    Description

    BEATLES
    LITHERLAND TOWN HALL
    WOOD STAGE FLOORBOARD DISPLAY #2
A unique 3 inch x 4 inch, 1/4 inch thick clear plastic holder with colorful poster for the Beatles 27 December, 1960 appearance at the Litherland Town Hall in Liverpool and an actual piece of wood stage floorboard. This section of wood floorboard was recovered during the conversion of the Town Hall into a medical center. The pieces being offered were removed from the bottom and side of the wood so as to keep the surface intact. Therefore, some of the pieces will be finished, some rough, but all will be of similar overall size. This display has a slightly larger piece of stage than Litherland Town Hall display #1. This display comes with a display stand and COA card on the wood segment.
Billed as a ‘Welcome Home’ show following their first trip to Hamburg, The Beatles’ 27 December 1960 performance at Litherland Town Hall was a breakthrough show which cemented their name as Liverpool’s top live draw. The booking was arranged by Bob Wooler, who was introduced to The Beatles by their booking agent Allan Williams. The long hours spent honing the music in Hamburg were finally paying dividends. From the opening number, Little Richard’s ‘Long Tall Sally’, The Beatles electrified the crowd, and there was a spontaneous surge towards the stage. The performance brought the house down and helped propel them from being relatively unknown into the worldwide craze that became known as “Beatlemania”. The Beatles performed at Litherland Town Hall at least 20 times in all. While they always attracted fervent crowds to the venue, no other performance had the same significance for the group. Immediately after the show Brian Kelly booked the group for a series of future shows, for between £6 and £8 a time, in an attempt to stop any other promoter from getting to them. The Beatles’ reputation in Liverpool was made overnight. After this first appearance at Litherland Town Hall they commanded a dedicated local following, with a number of fans attending every performance.
THE STAGE HAS BEEN SIGNED BY GEOFF NUGENT FROM THE UNDERTAKERS, FARRON FROM FARRON'S FLAMINGOS, BOBBY SCOTT FROM THE CLAYTON SQUARES, PLUS SOME UNIDENTIFIED SIGNATURES AND CAME WITH TWO LETTERS OF AUTHENTICITY:1ST FROM GALLIFORD TRY THE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WHO REMOVED THE STAGE. 2ND LETTER IS FROM JIMMY O BRIEN WHO WAS THE DRUMMER WITH THE UNDERTAKERS.
Here's your chance to get both a vintage Beatles item and a real piece of Beatles history at the same time.
