    Description

Up for auction are 2 pairs of drumsticks that I consider to be a ‘Father & Son’ set in this auction. One pair is of Ringo Starr, and the other pair is of Zak Starkey, son of Ringo, former drummer of Oasis and current drummer of The Who. Each pair has the signature of the drummer imprinted into the wood.
Note: Ringo or Zak did not personally sign the sticks. The manufacturing companies of the sticks were approved for licensing to take their real signatures and have them imprinted onto the sticks
Ringo Starr’s set of drumsticks is the Millennium II that is made from American Hickory by the Pro-Mark Corporation. They are 16.5” in length and are 0.5” thick (width).
Zak Starkey’s set of drumsticks are titled as “Play With Fire”. I do not know what type of wood they are made of; it is not stamped on the sticks. They are made by the Zildjian company. They are 16” in length and are also 0.5” thick.
I am the original owner of these sticks. They have never been used. The cardboard sleeves around the sticks have never been removed, but I have slid them back and forth to read what was imprinted on the sticks. The sleeves around each pair does show shelf wear on each, but more so on the Pro-Mark Ringo set. The sleeves are still tightly sealed; there are no tears or rips on them, just the shelfwear from the music store I bought them at, and then also handling from shipping and also when I would show others.
The sticks themselves are still in new condition. They are smooth and do not have any chips or scratches on them. The sticks show no damage, but there is a manufacturing flaw on one of Zak’s sticks, there is a thin line that is partly through the bottom left of the blue circle, and it also is through the bottom of the ‘Y’ in Zak’s last name. It was too small for my camera or scanner to see, and is barely visible by the naked eye unless looked at up close. I am assuming this line was made during the production of the sticks because the line can not be felt when touched, which means that it is not etched into the wood.
I am selling my entire collection of The Beatles and also of their solo releases, so add me to your list!
As always, I start my auctions at a low opining price.
