Brushes with bristle hairs are recommended for oil and acrylic painting and is a far less expensive alternative to good-quality softer hairs.
    Filbert style brushes have thick flat ferrules and oval-shaped medium to long hairs.  With its soft rounded edges, the filbert is suitable for heavier paint.
