This hair gets its name from the Kazan Russian Province, native to this animal and the bitter, extreme cold that this thick, strong, bushy coat protects it from. This fullness and coat strength, coupled with modern synthetics, allows the hair in these brushes to stand up to textured watercolor papers better than all others.
