    Description

Very rare souvenir from the Hotel Astor in New York City.  5 1/2 inches in diameter.  Marked - Made by L. Straus and Sons for the Hotel Astor and  "Germany" on the back.  Its about the size of an ashtray, but there are no cigarette rests, so I believe this would be used as a calling card dish or perhaps a candy dish.  The design of the Native-American is raised and it very finely crafted.  It is a porcelain or ceramic dish with a bisque finish.  Most likely hand pained.  There are no chips, but it does have a hairline on the bottom right.  Just a great piece from my personal collection.  Time to find a new home for this rare dish.
Domestic shipping and handling in the U.S. is .50.  Foreign bidders are welcome with the shipping costs to be determined after the auction is finished. I will combine shipping. I have decided to sell my collection of antiques (and other nice items), which I have been collecting for the past 30 years.  Good luck with your bids.
