High Carbon Steels
To ensure our blades are some of the some of the best, we only select the finest in high carbon steels with SAE ratings between 1080 and 1095 with up to 1.2% carbon. This combination of steel and carbon allows us to create extremely durable blades that stand the test of time.
Heat Treatment
Each blade is heat treated to temperatures of excess of 1000°F for around an hour. This process allows the small amount of carbon in evenly disperse into the steel giving our blades added toughness and strength.
CRYOGENIC PROCESS
After the blades are quenched, they go into specially designed cryogenic chambers that freeze the blades to temperatures exceeding -300°F for over twenty hours. Keeping blades at this temperature for this long helps lock the carbon molecules in place and maintain the toughness throughout the life of the blade.
