    Description

For sale is a vintage promotional, metal souvenir building replica of the Second Ward Savings Bank, Milwaukee, WI. built by the architectural firm of Kirchoff & Rose, in 1913.
Since 1965 it has served as the headquarters of the Milwaukee County Historical Society.
    Note:
    It is
NOT the variety recast in the 1990s for the Souvenir Building Collectors Society, but the
    original
    advertising savings bank
cast by Rehberger in the 1920s.
    Compare # 1169 in
    Monumental Miniatures
[Weingarten/Majua] that rates it III, 4 in rarity and value as well as # 1715 in
    Replica Buildings: A Visual History
    [Merwine].
Along the bottom base it reads "Safe Deposit Vaults", "Investments", "Savings"; on the top of the model it reads, "Put your money in the Second ward Savings Bank, The Bank of Personal Service in Milwaukee."
    Measures 3 1/4" X 4 1/4" X 2 1/4" high and is excellent condition.
It has an intact trap (no key).
Shipping includes insurance and signature tracking (to minimize the
    possibility
    of loss to 'porch pirates').
