Description
LONGER-THAN-OEMBLACK STEEL Hex-head GRIP SCREWS FOR SIG P226/P228/P229 and P239 SEMI-AUTO PISTOLS - PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING TEXT SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING!
Every so often we get requests for longer grip screws for those who wish to mount wood grips on their SIG pistols. We carry a number of options, but here is an option that allows you to customize exactly what you need for your particular gun. We are offering these because finding long screws for many of the SIG pistols has often been difficult.
For sale here is a set of four (4) hex-drive steel grip screws for the SIG P226/P228/P229 pistols ONLY. These are black-oxide coated steel screws with hex drive sockets rather than a slot. They can be installed with a hex wrench, which is included.
These are NOT for the P220 or P230/P232 models or any other model not listed above, which uses a different thread. The outer diameter (OD) of the screw head is 7.30mm; length is 6mm. The correct hex wrench is included with this kit to install these screws.
These do NOT fit the older West German-made SIG P226 pistols. Please see our other listings for screws for those pistols
These screws are primarily used for wood grips requiring longer grip screws, such as the grips from Nill Griffe.
As shipped, these screws are 6mm long (measured from under the head to the tip) for use with the P239, and they are threaded the entire 6mm length. They're ideal for when a longer screw is needed to mount wood grips to your SIG. They MAY BE TOO LONG for some of the models listed above or some grips, depending on what gun you have, the grips you're mounting and the screw length needed (they're perfect for the P239 with wood grips). Therefore, you may need to trim these down to the correct length for your purposes. Using them without trimming them down in length may result in them preventing your gun's mag from being released. These can be trimmed using a cutting wheel on a rotary tool such as a Dremel tool, or by other methods.
You are responsible for doing so if trimming is needed (or having your gunsmith or qualified person do so) - we do not trim these for you. If you don't understand how to do this, consider purchasing a different kit. We're offering these for the folks who need grip screws that are longer than what is available on the market. Be sure you safely check your firearm's complete function, including making sure the magazine doesn't bind in the gun because the screws are too long. Practice gun safety and never work on your firearm while it is loaded!
If you'd prefer stainless-steel screws instead, see my other listings as I have several options available for you.
Unlike slotted screws, these hex screws are positively driven and less prone to having the drive area damaged by a slipped screwdriver. Ample space is resent around the head of the screw to allow the grip to be aligned prior to tightening the screw. The heads don't protrude outside the grip's surface when tightened, allowing them to be used with other grips as well, and the material and coating provides resistance to corrosion and lubricity for the threads. These enhance the appearance of your gun as well.

Firearms safety is Job One!
Before modifying your firearm, be sure you have completely removed the magazine, unloaded the weapon and cleared it. You cannot be too safe when handling firearms! If you do not feel comfortable performing the work required to replace your grip screws, seek qualified help. You are responsible for damage to your firearm, tools, etc. Do not overtighten any grip screws, as you may damage the threads on the frame of the weapon or interfere with the proper operation of the gun. If you're not sure what to do or how to do it, ask! There are plenty of folks willing to help.
Thank you for checking out my listings. Please don't bid if you don't intend to pay for this item. Be sure to visit my other auctions and Ebay store for more firearm accessories, electronics, tools and retail/store equipment such as shelves and displays!
