Description
(Be sure to check out all 8 pictures of the items in this auction) This auction is for 12 different issues of Strawberry Fields Forever fanzine by Joe Pope. The magazine is devoted to the Beatles. Strawberry Fields Forever issues #19 (May 1976), 20-22, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 33, 34 and 37 (1980). Four of these issues include an insert page/sales flyer. Most issues measure 8-1/2" x 11" and have from 20 to 44 pages. The average pages per issue is approx. 32 pages. Issue #21 was an issue that also served as the Mystery Tour '76 program. Issue #31 featured "We finally settle it: Is Paul McCartney Dead?" Here are some issues with extra insert pages: #20 (1976) pink page insert with "Mystery Tour '76" Boston Beatle convention schedule; #25 (Nov '77) Decca Auditions and sales flyer; #34 (1979) SFF sales list; #37 (1980) "Late News" flyer and an SFF sales flyer. Strawberry Fields Forever magazine was mailed to subscribers with the pages stapled shut (for mailing) on the right side. To read, you removed the one staple. The magazines were addressed on the other side, so the back cover has stamps and cancellations. Because the magazines weren't shipped in an envelope they sometimes got damaged in the mail with creased edges. These 12 issues range from fair to good condition. I'd say that 5 are in fair condition and 7 in good or better. There is some yellowing to the pages. I'll list the issues that have defects: 19 - small stain front cover - creases upper right corner - very small tear covers; 20 - crease in upper right; 21 - crossword puzzle filled-in, creases; #22 - creases; #25 - crossword puzzle filled-in, ink smear on a couple pages; #26 - uneven cut of the top of two pages (probably printer error where the two pages had been still attached at the top); #28 - stain on cover, creases in corners; #29 - crossword puzzle filled-in, wrinkles along lower right edge of mag; #34 - creases; #37 - creases upper right.
