The Beatles Collector Fanzine 5 Issues #1,2,4-6 1980

Description

This auction is for five different issues of the Beatles Collector from 1980 and 1981 - issues #1, 2, 4-6. The first issue was titled The Beatles Bimonthly, which as explained in issue #2 was changed to avoid confusion with the British magazine The Beatles Monthly. Each issue measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has from 7 to 10 sheets (14 to 20 pages). Each issue is stapled along the left edge and then was folded in half for mailing. After being folded in half it was taped to keep it together, addressed, stamped and mailed. Most issues include "Fab Fax" including recent Beatles appearances and news, scrapbook clips from the 1960s, 1960s Beatles articles, Beatle convention ad and other info, Beatlemania invades America, etc. Some 1980 events covered include: Japan Deports McCartney, Lennon returns to the recording studio, Beatles snubbed by Liverpool, the death of John Lennon, etc. Issues #1, 2, 5 and 6 are in overall good condition except they were folded in half and mailed with tape on the back cover to keep them together - they are yellowed with age - issue #5 has a small (1/4") tear along the fold at the right edge of the pages and the back page is partially loose - there are some creases. Issue #4 is in poor condition because of tears & damaged to the front cover (there is a 2" x 1-1/4" piece missing at the bottom with a surface tear of the same size next to it - there are some smaller tears on the cover. A HARD-TO-FIND FANZINE! First class postage is .00.
