The Beatles George Harrison's Personal Portrait India A.C.B. Prabhupada ISKCONThe vast majority of George Harrison's western friends, contacts & family have never seen this painting, most Beatle/George aficionados will not know of its existence.
It took a while for the devotees and Yogis of ISKCON to manage to persuade George to sit for this portrait, George personally felt unworthy of such an accolade due to his awareness of his earthly failings, the inclusion of the image of A.C. Bhaktivedants Swami Prabhupada is a clear sign as to the elevated heights that George had risen within the Hare Krishna movement.
the painting has never been outside of India until 2018, it was painted in 1993, George's plan was to take it to Friar Park, due to the attack that took place there, and George's subsequent declining health , the transport arrangements were never made, George gifted the painting in 1996, I personally hand carried the painting from the far east to the USA, it is the only one in the world and it could never be repeated.
