The pic also gives a clear indication of the high end, luxurious Afghan coat that John wore that day.
Back in 1996, the 3 surviving Beatles, along with their long-term publicist & press officer, Derek Taylor, were sifting through images that were going to be displayed in an exhibition to be run concurrently in London & LA, the images were chosen to represent certain milestones in the bands career circa 1967-1969, this image is one of 38 that were chosen.
Only one set of images were printed from the original negative still held to this day by Apple
The exhibition was curtailed immediately after Derek's death in 1997.
