The Beatles Original Cavern Club Brick - Hessy's Liverpool Guitar Pick

One of the coolest and hard to find Beatles items. In 1983, shortly after the original
Cavern Club
was torn down (or filled in) Royal Life in Liverpool sold 5000 bricks that were salvaged from the location. I happened to be visiting Liverpool at that time and bought this brick to be displayed on my mantle all these years. At the same time I visited the legendary Liverpool
Hessy's Music Centre
and picked up this guitar pick. Hessy's is a legendary small music shop where John Lennon purchased his first guitar (a Gallotine Champion) for 17 pounds. The other members of The Beatles all bought guitars at Hessy's and Pete Best got his drum kit there. The store closed in 1996.
Both The Cavern Club brick and the Hessy's item are not just Beatles history but Liverpool and UK pop and rock history as so many other great acts played the Cavern Club and bought their instruments at Hessy's.
The Cavern Club bricks have become rare and usually only turn up at super pricey music memorabilia auctions where you have little chance of outbidding their well healed clientele. No two bricks are alike. At first glance my price may seem high but many of these have been selling much higher than this price as of late.
I encourage you to do some research and you will realize that this is a very good price. Very hard (nearly impossible) to find item with a "Buy It Now" price.
Condition of the brick is good although there is one flaw on the plaque where the word "5000" has a dent in it. This happened during the shipping of the item via sea mail from England to the USA in a rather small and flimsy cardboard box. Make a note of this small flaw before bidding.
Absolutely guaranteed authentic
. The brick measures 9" x 4.5" x 2.75" and is heavy at 8 1/2 pounds. This brick has some original paint on it that adds a nice patina to the item. It has been in a smoke and pet free home all these years.
These items will be double boxed for best protection. Shipping is pricey due the the high insurance costs and my price is actually below the actual shipping cost.
