Description
(Be sure to check out all 7 pictures of the item in this auction) This auction is for issue Year 1, Issue #7 of The Write Thing by Barb Fenick from October/November 1974. Early issues of this great fanzine are hard-to-find. (The newsletter mentions that they hope to have 300 members by the next issue, so most likely LESS than 300 issues of this were printed back in 1974. The newsletter measures 8-1/2" x 14" and is stapled together in the upper left hand corner and then folded in half for mailing. Usually the last page would be blank on the back except for the address label of the subscriber and postage stamps. This issue does not have the address label sheet that would have been on the back (and an article would be printed on the other side of the address sheet). This issue has 22 pages and most likely is missing the last page. This issue has mentions the upcoming Harrison concert tour, has a few recent Paul pictures (one with new Wings drummer Geoff Britton); a couple pages on NY Beatlefest '74 and Joe Pope's Boston Magical Mystery Tour; an article about the Demonstration on the Boston Common for John (Almost); other news of John; news about George; some music reviews, and more. The newsletter is in good, used condition - it is folded, as issued - it has a light horizontal crease from being folded again - there is some wear/wrinkling on the top and bottom edges of the pages- a couple items on the "Foto Sales" page are circled - there are some other wrinkles, small creases, light wear. AN EARLY ISSUE OF A LEGENDARY FANZINE! First class postage is .00. Check my other auctions for a few more early issues of The Write Thing. Combine auctions wins to save on postage. If you win more than one issue, please wait to pay until I can send you an updated invoice with combined postage.
